Giselle Rufer, depuis toujours, soutient activement les femmes entrepreneurs qui veulent participer activement à l’évolution de la société. Aujourd’hui elle franchit une nouvelle étape en s’engageant à améliorer les conditions des artisans mineurs et celles de leurs familles en s’associant au projet de Transparence parce qu’elle partage avec Veerle van Wauwe, fondatrice de Transparence s.a., une vision de femmes qui s’encouragent les unes les autres.

Delance s’est alliée à Transparence afin de trouver une source d’or propre qui puisse : respecter l’environnement, améliorer les conditions de vie des mineurs et faire de la justice sociale, dans le cadre des mines, une réalité.

Transparence S.A. est une entreprise pionnière dans le segment émergeant du “luxe responsable”. Transparence se veut un catalyseur dans ce mouvement et offre à ses clients une transparence intégrale et une traçabilité de l’or de la mine au produit fini. Son but est de développer une extraction responsable de l’or qui permets un développement durable des communautés minières et garanti une amélioration des conditions sociales et environnementales. Transparence sensibilise, crée la demande et mets en relation des créateurs indépendants, des marques et des revendeurs avec des sources d’or éthique. Transparence gère aussi une plateforme de vente en ligne qui répond à la demande d’un segment grandissant de consommateurs engagés, qui choisissent un style de vie durable.

 

About ethical gold sourcing

Today this is produced by Artisanal and small scale mining communities in the Puna region, Jujuy, Argentina and in the Choco region, Colombia. No Mercury, no cyanide is used in the extraction process and a sound environmental conservation plan is developed with local communities in order to reduce the impact of the mining activities.

Transparence supports alternative livelihoods creation in order to reduce poverty in these artisanal mining communities. Apart from supporting additional grass root level initiatives in Senegal and Peru, Transparence is also active at the international level encouraging supply creation, through partnering with the Global Mercury Partnership (a UNEP and UNIDO initiative). Transparence acts as an industry driving force, to duplicate and further expand the current best in class projects that they have qualified in Argentina (Eco Andina) and Colombia (Oro Verde). Both produce gold with mercury-free, cyanide-free methods.

Transparence is also actively searching to qualify and promote chemical free artisanal mining techniques and supports through partners the development of other pilots.
Transparence aims to create a route to market for gold mined without mercury, to give an economic incentive to miners to adopt ethical gold mining technologies by working with partners in the luxury industry to produce ethical jewellery using gold supplied from projects verified by Transparence.

The founder of Transparence, Veerle Van Wauwe is also an active member of many international initiatives, such as the Responsible Jewellery Council, Sustainable Luxury Forum and she was awarded the International Women Environmental Entrepreneur Award by IUCN in Barcelona in 2008.
